I hope you got off to a great start yesterday with reading to your children and tucking them in. Remember, I encourage you to do this nightly throughout the challenge, to continue to foster bonding at bedtime.
Today’s Challenge:
This challenge is all about MEMORIES! Today, I encourage you to either reread a baby book/journal from when your kids were younger, or spend 30 minutes watching old videos or looking at old pictures with your children. This can be old pictures of your children, or pictures of you when you were younger. I’m sure they’ll have lots of questions about what things were like at those times, and I encourage you to start a discussion. Let them know the type of baby they were, the types of things they liked, etc. Talk about your childhood as well!
Purpose of this challenge:
I know that my kids love to look at old pictures and videos from times that they just don’t remember. It’s fun to provide them with a little history when looking back, and it’s also interesting to hear the types of questions they come up with! It helps them to see the amount of love that was poured into them as young babies, and reminds you to continue to pour that same love into them now (in spite of their terrible two’s, talking back, messy rooms, etc!).
Reminders:
- Set aside time each night for the challenges.
- Read with your children and tuck them in each night
- Take pictures and tag your posts on social media with #wmdmotherhoodchallenge.
- Keep a journal throughout the challenge
- Limit technology around your kids
- Be positive!
